In a world clamoring for attention, I choose the silence of black-and-white. My work as a fine art photographer is not about the "perfect" image, but the authentic story beneath the surface. It explores the uncertainty of adolescence, the search for identity, and the profound strength found in masculine vulnerability.

I create to give space to the unspoken: the quiet struggle and the universal longing for recognition. In series such as John the Baptist and Estranged, I capture the fragility that most people keep hidden.

From my studio in Almere, I work with meticulous intention. I strip away the superfluous until only the essential remains: honesty without embellishment. Sometimes raw, sometimes tender, as seen in the CUPIDO series, but always real. The results are limited edition fine art prints that resonate deeply. These are images you hang on your wall because they give something back every day: a reminder of your own strength, your own vulnerability, and your own story.

Central to his photography is the search for identity and self-expression. Through powerful, predominantly monochrome compositions, Spannenburg portrays youth standing on the threshold of adulthood.

We witness adolescents in a transient, uncertain phase of life. These sensitive portraits capture subjects alone with their thoughts, yet they simultaneously radiate a profound need for communication with the outside world—a search for support, understanding, and love.
